Horticultural Spray Coordinator

• Application Planning & Execution
  
  • Schedule and manage all horticultural spray programs, including pre-emergent, post-emergent, insecticide, fungicide, and fertilizer applications.
  • Identify pest and disease issues through site assessments and implement appropriate treatment strategies.
• Team Coordination
  
  • Lead, train, and support spray technicians.
  • Maintain detailed spray logs, crew assignments, and safety records.
• Compliance & Safety
  
  • Ensure all applications comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., EPA, state agriculture departments).
  • Oversee proper handling, mixing, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of label requirements, safety data sheets (SDS), and PPE usage.
• Equipment Oversight
  
  • Ensure spray equipment (trucks, tanks, pumps, nozzles) is maintained and calibrated properly.
  • Coordinate repairs and upgrades as needed.
• Client & Internal Communication
  
  • Communicate treatment plans, timing, and outcomes with account managers and clients as needed.
  • Document and report pest/disease trends and propose proactive solutions.

• Valid [state] Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• 2+ years of experience in landscape, nursery, or agricultural spray operations.
• Strong knowledge of turf and ornamental pests, diseases, and treatment strategies.
• Experience leading a small crew preferred.
• Working knowledge of application equipment and calibration.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on feet for extended periods.
• Exposure to weather, chemicals, and physical labor.
• Ability to operate trucks, UTVs, and spray rigs.
