Utility & Maintenance Technician

This position is responsible for operating landscape equipment and systems, assisting with property maintenance, and supporting daily field operations.

To be successful in this role, you must:

· Must be able to maintain and service power equipment on a routine basis to prevent on the job breakdowns.

· Must be organized, efficient, and accurate when documenting all work and services performed.

· Must be able to maintain and input new inventory.

· A team player with good communication abilities: must be adept at fostering communication between management, and crew members.

· Responsible for all vehicle and equipment maintenance.

· Must be able to trouble shoot and make repairs or outsource repairs on vehicles, tools, and equipment used.

· Always maintain a neat and clean workplace.

· Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment and tools

· Support landscaping projects including sod, mulch, planting, grading, and cleanup

· Troubleshoot basic mechanical or irrigation issues in the field

· Maintain clean and organized job sites, vehicles, and equipment

· Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards

· Work efficiently as part of a crew in outdoor environments

· Performs additional duties as required to be a team player.

Qualifications

· Knowledge of 2 cycle equipment

· Knowledge of small equipment

· Knowledge of diesel trucks

· Knowledge of gasoline vehicles

· Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance

· Mechanically inclined

· Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance

· Knowledge of safety precautions

· Hand, eye and foot coordination

· Understands, follows and transmits written and oral instructions

· Experience operating landscaping equipment and machinery preferred

· Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and landscape maintenance

· Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

· Strong work ethic, punctuality, and teamwork skills

· Valid driver’s license preferred

· Experience towing trailers or operating skid steers is a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, crouch, stoop or kneel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job are dictated by the Louisiana Driver’s License requirements.
